Considering she only started stand-up in 2006, Holly Walsh has done pretty well. A finalist in 2006's So You Think You're Funny?, Funny Women and Amused Moose competitions, a finalist in the prestigious Hackney Empire New Act of the Year Award 2007 and Winner of the Chortle Best Newcomer Award 2008, she is clearly recognised as a very funny lady.
Walsh has written TV and radio, and has made several appearances on radio and television, including
Edinburgh & Beyond on the Paramount Comedy Channel,
The Late Edition on BBC Four and
Out To Lunch on BBC Radio 2. In 2009 Walsh wrote for and appeared on
The Now Show on BBC Radio Four, appeared on Winging It on BBC Switch, and made videos for Current TV. In the summer of 2009 Walsh was a co-host and writer of Channel 4's
TNT Show.
While she may come across as goofy, Walsh's one liners and stories are exceptionally witty and well-crafted. She has a very warm, chatty delivery and even when a joke 'misfires', her analysis of the error will have you in stitches.
