House of Windsor
House of Windsor are made up of Jonny Sweet, Simon Bird and Joe Thomas. In 2006, Johnny and Joe were nominated for the Writer's Guild Award for their show The Future which went down a storm at the Fringe. Simon Bird was a finalist in the 2008 Hackney New Act of the Year Awards and Chortle Student Comic of the Year Awards and both he and Joe have recently starred in E4's hit teen show The Inbetweeners.
The trio, all ex-Footlighters, joined together in 2007 for their first Fringe outing as House Of Windsor. Their dry, inventive sketches, which have previously included Tim Henman convincing himself he's won Wimbledon and management changes at Legoland, are always brilliantly written and performed. Their most recent show The Meeting, based on a boardroom meeting gone haywire, must be their most innovative and entertaining production yet. Though all three are relatively young, it speaks volumes that they've already been snapped up by PR agency Avalon.
