Comedy veteran Jack Dee embodies the stand-up tradition in its purest and best form - sardonic, bitter and completely deadpan.
Dee began his career on a whim when he stood up at an open mic night at the Comedy Store in 1986. He went on to ascend the UK comedy ladder with great success, performing sell-out acts in many large-scale venues and winning the British Comedy Award for Best Stage Newcomer in 1991. He has starred in his own television shows numerous times, including The Jack Dee Show for Channel 4, Jack Dee's Saturday Night on ITV and Jack Dee Live at the Apollo for BBC One.
Dee is known for his sardonic one-liners and bitter, acerbic observations on everyday life, being English and being miserable in general. It's an act that has served comedians well for decades, but Dee certainly does it with class and style.
