Controversial US-born, Scottish-raised comic/magician Jerry Sadowitz is as well known for creating uproar and outrage as laughs.
He rose to fame in the stand-up circuit in the '80s for his aggressive and borderline racist brand of comedy, having famously opened the Montreal festival with the line, "Hello, moose-fuckers" and promptly being knocked unconscious. His material continues to shock and offend liberal audiences, but amongst the more open-minded appreciators of comedy, Sadowitz is generally hailed as a gifted stand-up and an industry treasure.
Apart from his boundary-pushing comic style, Sadowitz is also a highly respected magician, specialising in card tricks and close-up magic. He often spends large chunks of time away from the spotlight to perfect his craft.
