Kristen Schaal

Probably best known for playing stalker Mel from the excellent comedy series Flight of the Conchords, Kristen Schaal is also a stand-up comedian and was nominated for the prestigious if.comedy award with show partner Kurt Braunohler in 2008.

Her stand-up sets are similar to her acting roles in the way that she plays a kooky persona on stage and never plays herself.  She won 'Best Alternative Comedian' in 2006 at at HBO's United States Comedy Arts Festival and has won plenty more since. She was also included in New York Magazine's 'Ten Funniest New Yorkers You've Never Heard Of.'
