Laura Solon

Laura Solon was the second woman ever to win the Perrier Award in 2005, for her one woman character comedy show: Kopfraper's Syndrome: One Man and His Incredible Mind. Amazingly, Solon was supposed to perform it with a partner but he dropped out just before the Edinburgh Fringe run and she rewrote it in three weeks, playing eight characters herself.

Solon began her career in comedy writing and performing in the Oxford Revue. After a brief spell in stand-up, she settled in sketches and character-based comedy. After she won the Perrier, the BBC asked her to produce some material for them and in 2007 the first series of her sketch show Laura Solon: Talking and Not Talking was aired. This waas followed with a second series in 2008.
