Tri-lingual Scot Maureen Younger lived in Austria, Germany, Spain, Russia and the Ukraine and them moved to France to perform comedy sketches for a French café theatre group, Meceuil Théâtre de Paris. Following that, she moved back to England and turned to stand-up, making the final of the 2007 Hackney Empire New Act competition.
Television and film roles include using her perfect German accent as a housewife in the BBC/HBO TV series Band of Brothers and appearing as Miriam in the comic play Roger and Miriam, where she played an alcoholic, New York, Jewish mother. She has appeared in several short films, presented her own weekly radio show on Break FM and more recently has contributed to the Late Show on BBC Radio London and BBC Radio 5 Live.
Her acting talents mean she is comfortable on stage and has an easy connection with the audience. A little reminiscent of Jo Brand, she is sharp and feisty and likes to talk about her weight a little too much but when she sticks to the more observational material and moves off the self-deprecating hang ups, she is a real hit.
