Hailed by The Scotsman as 'the most controversial act at the Fringe' in 2007, Dutch comedian Micha Wertheim is not famed for his tact.
In March 2008 he was involved in a dispute after a handicapped man wheeled out of his show when he made a joke about the disabled. The venue declared they would never hire him again which induced other respected Dutch comedians to rally round him and declare they would never work for the venue again.
Controversy aside, Wertheim has been a national and international success, performing his first English speaking performance in London in 2001 and in New York City in 2003. In 2007 he performed at the Fringe Festival as part of the Amsterdam Underground Comedy Collective and was so well received he was invited back to Britain as the opening act for Dutch comedian Hans Teeuwen in the London Soho Theatre.
Don't make the mistake of thinking Wertheim is just an angry young man however, he has the wit and irony to go with it.
