Nick Doody
Nick Doody had a better starting block than most comedians - he was personally chosen by the late Bill Hicks to support him on his final UK tour and Hick's influence is certainly prevalent on Doody's sets today when he talks of his love of booze and argues about religion.
Since the tour, Doody has appeared all over the UK on the comedy circuit and has been a writer for BBC4's Late Edition and Channel 4's 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Friday Night Live.
His material is intelligent satire, usually political or topical with sharp, witty dialogue and great punchlines. He is not however averse to a bit of silly diversion from his usual routines, in the past he has quite merrily impersonated MC Hammer and sung songs about clowns.
