Noel Fielding

Best known for his role as Vince Noir in The Mighty Boosh with Julian Barrett, Noel Fielding is also an incredibly successful solo stand-up comic. His first live solo show Voodoo Hedgehog was nominated for the Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 2002 and the following year he won the Time Out Award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy.

Fielding and Barrett made their Mighty Boosh debut at the 1998 Edinburgh and Sydney festivals, earning them the Perrier Best Newcomer award, and returned to Edinburgh in 1999, when they were nominated for the main award, 2000 and 2001.

The Boosh was picked up by Radio 4 in 2001 for a series which won the first and only Douglas Adams Award for Innovative Comedy Writing. The show transferred to BBC Three for two series in 2004 and 2005, resulting in instant fame and a major national tour.

Also a graphic artist and a painter, pal Russell Brand has said of him: "He is a very talented artist with his tongue or with his brush." In stand-up sets, he's particularly impressive when improvising with the audience; even the most mundane response to one of his questions can result in a brilliantly surreal exploration into the unknown and unprepared.
