Peter Buckley Hill
Peter Buckley Hill, or PBH, is known to be something of a legend in comedy circles due to his contribution to comedy in founding the Free Fringe in 1996. This Edinburgh Festival institution puts on comedy gigs with no charge to the public, to the performers or to the venue owners so it truly is a free comedy experience.
The venues make money from the bar tabs and the FF survives with discretionary donations and a couple of big gigs here and there to raise some cash.
Peter himself has written and performed at the last 13 Festivals bar one, including 61 appearances in 2005 alone. He has won several awards in the past for his work, including the coveted Edinburgh Panel Prize in 2009 - for embodying the 'spirit of the fringe'.
