Her characters range from a Kiwi counsellor to an American folk singer (Loretta Maine, her most popular act) to Amangela, a cat-obsessed spinster. A former drama student, her acting skills are superb; while her characters are usually oddballs there are enough flashes of realism to make them convincing.
