Rob Brydon

Most of us probably first saw Rob Brydon playing a traffic warden in the film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels but the Bafta-nominated Welsh comic first properly stepped into the limelight with his BBC 2 black comedy series, Marion and Geoff.

This was followd by the Human Remains series he wrote and starred in alongside Julia Davis (Nighty Night), which was also produced by Steve Coogan's BabyCow Productions company and featured various couples living in bleak situations. Both these series won British Comedy Awards and Brydon's career rocketed ever since.

His notable comedy credits now include: Black Books, I'm Alan Partridge, Little Britain, Jack Dee Live At The Apollo, Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive, QI, The Big Fat Quiz Of The Year, Have I Got News For You and, of course the more recent multi-award winning BBC sitcom, Gavin and Stacey.

Brydon is famous for starring in black TV comedies but his stand-up performances are a lot more upbeat and cheerful -  his favourite topics including parenting, his second marriage and being Welsh.
