'Poet savant' Tim Key first stepped into the limelight in his 2001 Fringe show Far Too Happy starring hapless character Luke Walsall. It became an instant sell-out and gained him a Perrier Award nomination for 'Best Newcomer'.
He followed it up with a Radio 4 show All Bar Luke and several live shows performed with friend and comedian Alex Horne including Every Body Talks and When In Rome; all received well by critics. Further accolades came with a short film which he co-wrote and starred in with Tom Basden called The One and Only Herb McGwyer. It won Best UK Short at the 2007 Edinburgh Film Festival and got nominated for a BAFTA.
Key has performed in two-man act Freeze with Tom Basden and was one quarter of the sketch group Cowards whose skits made it onto the coveted spot on BBC4, however he's best known for his witty poetry.
Key has made several appearences on television, regular reading TV-inspired poetry on Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe and appearing on Never Mind the Buzzcocks in 2010. Not content with those mediums, Key has also released two books and an album of poetry, prose and tense conversation.
A talented actor as well as comedian, Key has a unique comical persona which has to be seen (as well as heard) to be fully appreciated.
