Alex Downey

Technophile Alex Downey has deejayed to little recognition or acclaim outside of the electronic scene in his native Brighton (where he's resident at club Split) for over a decade now. But as the main promoter and headliner of Balance, a new night at emerging venue Cable, the underrated DJ is sure to win accolades from the capital's tech-heads.

And why exactly? Because his aims are very simple: to revive the Detroit techno sound, lend (in his words) 'warmth, humanity and soul' to club music, and most importantly, make people dance.
