Alix Perez
Originally from Belgium, Alix Perez is a prolific North London based DJ/producer and although only 22, has already released a bunch of tracks on various labels like Liquid V, Creative Source, Horizons and Progress.
He started DJing at an early age and began producing at 17, collaborating with the likes of Jenna G, Redeyes, Sabre, MC Fats, Spectrasoul and Specific. He performs his eclectic style of soulful drum n bass all over the world and the UK, as well as playing regular sets in London at Fabio's Swerve night and Bar Rhumba's Movement. Heavily tipped as 'one to watch' from industry professionals, he has been nominated for two awards as Breakthrough DJ and Breakthrough Producer of the year at the BBC 1Xtra Bass Awards.

This is what I'd call clinical drum 'n' bass and what real aficionados would probably call 'techstep'. I actually like dnb of the liquid variety but this is distinctly lacking in any kind of warm melody you'd get with, say, a London Elektricity track or floor-stomping energy that prevails in Chase and Status tunes.
In my mind drum 'n' bass should make you want to dance or feel uplifted but this just makes me feel a bit cold and depressed.
