Apply the Breaks

The new five-deck collective Apply The Breaks, were formed in May 2003,and are made up of 9 artists combined to produce an energetic DJ show covering the full spectrum of breakbeat music. Playing on five turntables, two CDJs and four mixers with the occasional host, the collective spin a mixture of funky, rolling, bass-heavy, old-skool, electro and reggae-influenced breaks with plenty of cutting, scratching and vocal accapellas on top.

The unique live experience has landed the group a residency at rave-giants RAINDANCE as well as performing at various other venues supporting acts such as the Scratch Perverts and the Drunken Allstars. The team also run their own Apply The Breaks and This Is Oldskool nights in their home-town of Luton.
