Boy 8-Bit
Resident and promoter of Body Clap (usually hosted at T-Bar and Fabric), London-based DJ Boy 8-Bit (real name Dave Morris) makes music using his computer (he used to use an Amiga with 8-bit samples, hence the name). A prolific remixer, he's also released original tracks on labels like Trouble & Bass and Mad Decent.
His style is eclectic, taking its cue from electro house, minimal techno, instrumental hip-hop and yes, videogame music. The result is often a sound rife with bleeps, synth riffs and layered drum loops, not unlike the 'heavyweight' sound of Fake Blood, Touché (co-founder of Body Clap), Boys Noize and Hervé.
