Carl Craig

Owner of the legendary Planet E Communications, he's released a huge amount of music both under his own name and a bewildering array of aliases. At one extreme he stands for dark, brooding, cinematic techno, with an emphasis on rich analogue sounds and rudimentary percussion - very much in keeping with his geographical predecessors - whilst at the other end of the spectrum he produces jazz, modern classical and electronica, often in collaboration with fellow detroit luminaries and sometimes with musicians from further afield (most recently the young Italian pianist, Francesco Tristano). Further to this, he's amongst the most prolific and successful remixers in the history of dance music. Cripes!

A busy DJ, he's known for show-stopping sets that span house, techno and everything in between, moving effortlessly between decades in an almost educational fashion.
