Chase and Status
Since they started their careers in 2004 Chase & Status have been whipping the drum & bass world into shape with rude bwoy riddims and raggamuffin ruffneck business.
Their first clutch of singles released by Renegade Hardware brought them to the immediate attention of their peers, and in 2005 their 'Duppy' single featuring Capleton became an instant classic.
They've well and truly straddled the breakbeat spectrum by releasing breaks records under their alias Loopdigga.
They're in hot demand as remixers too, notching up success with remixes for Dizzee Rascal, Mood 2 Swing and Shy FX.

I love Chase and Status and the fact they have deviated from their usual upfront drum and bass to team up with grime MC Kano and make a hip hop record has done nothing to change my mind.
Forget modern day hip hop/electro tosh, this is proper old school stuff with broken beats, jazz flutes, horns and some wicked soul samples. Just like their d n b it's impossibly catchy and if it doesn't storm the charts I'll eat my hat.
