DJ Premier
Although born in Houston, DJ Premier is synonymous with East Coast hip-hop, having spent his career in Brooklyn helping create the gritty New York sound.
Often referenced as one of hip-hop's all-time greatest producers, Premier made his name partly as half of Gangstarr, with Guru, and partly with classic work for a roll-call of other prominent rappers. The list includes Nas, Rakim, Notorious B.I.G., KRS-One, Most Def and countless others.
