Maverick businessman turned jungle producer, now a Hollywood A Lister and still one of the best loved party animals and DJs on the breaks scene. Goldie (real name Clifford Price) started out as a breakdancer and graffiti artist on the streets of Wolverhampton where his spray can art was known and respected. After a few years he moved to America to run a grills business, making a small fortune… which he invested in music. He had always been a BBoy and hip hop enthusiast but upon returning to the UK with money and time to invest in music he found himself drawn to the jungle scene… as something more definitively ‘British’. Within months he was a founding member of the Metalheadz crew, undoubtedly the biggest and most influential label on the scene. Goldie’s career path is all about self reliance learned from strict Scottish and Jamaican parents. But his music is all about the mash up and he is known for his love of the party life style. Still working in movies (a short stint on Eastenders was only a mild success) and pursuing all kinds of business avenues, Goldie is settled now and uses his label to promote new up and coming artists and set up oversize rave nights. A hero of the D n B scene and a reliably block-rocking party DJ.
