Jazzy Jeff

Jeffrey A Townes, aka DJ Jazzy Jeff, is best known for his early work in collaboration with Will Smith as DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, earning them the first ever rap Grammy, several gold and platinum-selling albums, as well as appearing with Smith in the hugely successful Fresh Prince of Bel-Air sitcom. After the duo went their separate musical ways in the mid 90s, Smith went on to become a renowned rapper and Hollywood megastar, while Townes went on to become a prominent R&B, soul, and neo soul record producer. He is still a close friend of Smith and they still occasionally work together, most recently at the Live8 concert in Philadelphia in 2005. Still a legendary DJ in his own right, a set by Jazzy Jeff is still not to be missed, as he mashes up the classics with modern day hip hop, soul and R&B and pleases the crowds wherever he goes.
