Jeff Mills

Mills is one of the grandaddies of the techno scene, whose eclectic tech sets on Charles Johnson's WJLB station first spread the sound of the Detroit underground to a wider audience in the USA. He has been techno wizard since day one and never stopped playing spare, banging beats no matter whether they were in vogue, or on the out.

An awesome producer of peaceful, minimal techno, Mills party sets are altogether harder. Meaning you can spend an evening at Lost or one of hi other parties having your brain and eardrums smacked into awe-filled submission, then head home for some ambient techno and a cup of tea before bed.

A festival favourite who still has a penchant for the underground scene (Lost is a proper rave up) Mills is one of the biggest names in the biz and now that techno is cool again, he is sitting pretty at the very top of the tree. See him if you get a chance.
