Joakim
Straight outta, er, France comes Joakim, another notable name to emerge from the current school of rock-tinged dance music making a splash in the UK club scene (think Justice, Digitalism, Yuksek, Danger and their ilk). It's a sound that centres around heavy electro riffs, fat basslines and random vocals.
Joakim has a forthcoming album on !K7 Records, 'Milky Ways', and is touring in its support with back-up band 'The Disco'. Aside from his own productions, he has remixed such artists as Tiga, Alter Ego, Simian Mobile Disco and Royksopp, and also heads his own label, Tigersushi.
