Blatantly the king of UK acid, Mike Dred has been working the silver box since the early '90s under aliases like The Kosmik Kommando and as part of the Universal Indicator project (producing records that now command infuriatingly high collectors' prices).
Mike has a long-standing association with the Rephlex label, co-founded by Aphex Twin, for whom he's been capable of turning out mind-bogglingly contemporary sound design just as much as furious techno.
He no slouch on the decks, either, mixing up offbeat rave and acid of the past with newer dancefloor oddities.
