Milanese's experimental sound design uses sophisticated computer music techniques like granular synthesis to create intricate, often harsh-sounding textures. What dominates his music, however, is its connection to various forms of bass-heavy UK dance music, including drum & bass, jungle and techno on his first EPs for Warp but largely grime and dubstep on his later work for the Planet Mu label.
He has collaborated with vocalists including Manchester grime outfit Virus Syndicate and South African rapper Ben Sharpa to create an even more distinctive fusion of genuine urban music and intense digital sound manipulation.
