Ms Dynamite

Ms Dynamite, Mercury Music Prize, double Brit Award and three time Mobo Award winner MC extraordinaire nee Niomi Arlene McLean Dale born and raised in Archway North London. This uncompromising vocalist first burst open the collective public consciousness with the subtlety of a gun clap fired from a thousand upraised fingers on the seminal Booo! A track that has become an anthem synonymous with the nascent garage scene, never bettered and will still tear up any dance floor to this day. Greater things were surely to follow... and in a way they did.

She made the transition to bona fide recording artist with a further two albums and varying degrees of success as she struggled to reconcile the whims of a record label who judge talent in units sold against her singular vocal style. A female MC of intelligence and substance and yet still capable of leading a baying crowd into a skanking frenzy, and who WILL shatter the illusions of any pretenders with the minimum of fuss.

Recent times has heralded a return to form with tracks like Get Low a collaboration with genius producer Geeneus and Bad Gyal feat Sticky, she has also diversified into other projects more in keeping with her considerable lyrical intellect and talent, starting the Shakespeare Hip Hop Theatre Company with her brother and Mobo award winning rapper Akala to critical acclaim. The future bodes well for this business woman, artist and mother, watch this space, she will surely become one of our Great British institutions. A true Bad Gyal!!!
