Mu-ziq
Mike Paradinas has recorded under a number of aliases, chiefly μ-ziq (pronounced Mu-Ziq), on Rephlex, Warp, Virgin and his own label Planet μ. The imprint has become one of the UK's most significant electronic labels, pushing the breakcore of artists like Venetian Snares and also a number of dubstep producers.
A versatile producer, his experimental but often fairly accessible music has drawn on techno, jungle, gabber, hip-hop and 2-step at different times, abstracting these influences and combining them with a personalised feeling for melody to create a distinctive sound.
His up-tempo live laptop shows are always popular, and tend to draw on and rework both new material and back-catalogue favourites.
