Nathan Fake

Nathan Fake – yes, his real name – has been playing and writing music since he was in his early teens, culminating in his first release in 2003 aged just 20.

His blissed-out style of electronica and techno, recalling Boards Of Canada and even My Bloody Valentine, has seen him lauded by critics across the board, with 2006's debut album 'Drowning in a Sea of Love' voted second best album of the year by Mixmag.

His latest album 'Hard Islands' veers more into heads down dancefloor territory.

He is also noted for his remixes, but his original material is where he truly shines.

Saw Mr Nathan Fake play Corsica Studios for James Holden's Border Community night. Absolutely brilliant but so packed it reminded me of the Pennywise mosh pit at Reading Festival I narrowly escaped from, aged 16. No elbow room. No dancing space. Verging on unpleasant. No crowd surfing though....
