Phil Asher is one of those DJs who slips under the radar despite years of experience under his belt. He frequently spins at trendy venues such as East Village, for example, and has released a substantial amount of material on both Archive Records and the Restless Soul label.
As a funky house/afro-beat producer, he's too niche to become mainstream, but as far as the genre goes he stands out for pushing an innovative and eclectic sound.
