Plaid

Plaid are British electronic music duo Andy Turner & Ed Handley. They are former members of The Black Dog and used many other names before settling on Plaid, the Welsh word for 'Party' (some argue it's the complexity of plaid cloth that inspired them...).

They have collaborated with some fantastic female singers including Mara Carlyle, Nicolette and Björk and their remixing skills are considered industry high grade (they've been summoned to re-work the likes of Red Snapper, Björk and Goldfrapp). Their records have been released on the labels Clear, Warner, Black Dog Productions and warp Records.

The prodigious number of live sets they've put in over the years reflect their both their enduring popularity and their skill. Always a pleasure, and certainly never a chore, to watch these guys in action- electronica at this level is essentially the future of sound of music. Arguably a rash statement, but debatable nevertheless.
