Richie Hawtin

Hawtin is one of the top five techno DJs in the world, acclaimed for his touring sets and blinding minimal parties, and his work with other techno artists on three sub labels. He is a great party DJ but is even more revered among serious techno fans for his work as Plastikman. The quiet, minimal techno noise that Plastikman pioneered while techno was in the doldrums is what kept the genre alive and inspired artists from Villalobos to Holden.

A brilliant, thoughtful live DJ with total crowd empathy, and as a composer, he commands respect from all over the dance music community - Hawtin is one of the people who saved techno.
