Longtime Dub Pistols collaborator Rodney P is a big name in his own right, one of the more renowned party MCs on the scene, with an original flow that genuinely adds to the music, from breakbeat to rock.

 

Rodney P is an instantly recognisable voice, a genuine party animal who still splashes Courvoisier at the front of the stage, and a lifelong Arsenal fan who is guaranteed to plug his team at least once a night.

 

A properly excellent MC who makes a party take off.

True story - met Rodney P at Corsica Studios after the Dub Pistols played a (very, very good) Digital City gig. He was completely nonplussed because of the total lack of call-and-response during the set. I tried to explain to him that white middle class Guardian readers physically cannot speak up for MCs. They totally get the fear and their throats actually clamp shut. But it doesn't mean they don't love the show. I think he thought I was a gibbering gakfaced loon. But I wasn't!
