Skream

Skream is a name that is synonymous with dubstep. Having been a pioneer of dubstep in the early 'naughtys' he has been integral to the scene since he was only 15.

Cementing friendships with fellow pioneers such as Benga and Hatcha they set about building on the early dark flavours of garage that were populating the pirate radio stations of Croyden. Initially Skream's production was dark and techy and this can still be heard in much of his output. However as more producers joined the scene he became inspired by other artists such as the Digital Mystikz to produce more varied and colourful tracks.

In 2005 Skream released the seminal 'Midnight Request Line'. This was the first dubstep track to achieve any sort of recognition beyond the confines of the scene, getting national radio airplay.

Having been there at the beginning Skream is still very much at the top of his game, becoming a star outside of the scene with daytime radio hits such as his remix of La Roux's 'Going In For the Kill'. With projects such as the super group Magnetic Man and a reported 1500 completed tracks on his computer, this  'Croyden wonder kid' shows no sign of slowing down.
