Spektre
Spektre are an electronic music duo consisting of Leeds party boys Paul Maddox and Filthy Rich (better know to his mum as Richard Wakely). Debuting back in 2006 on German imprint Dance Electric - by then already pricking the ears of electro kingpin Oliver Huntemann - they've since put out a steady flow of highly polished cuts on an array of techno-minded labels.
Their sound is sleek, metallic and (of course) minimal, tailor-made for the messier clubbers who like to keep things going deep into Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and beyond. They've remixed for a host of established producers - most recently Fergie - and are currently ploughing away at their debut album, to be released on Tim Sheridan's aptly named VeryVeryWrongIndeed Recordings.
As DJs they're know for their ability to rock crowds the world over, playing everywhere from Marseille to Morelia, and have recently brought their kit out of the studio to play a series of blistering live PA sets. Make no mistake, the future looks bright for this mischievous pair.
