British producer duo Simon Marlin and Max Reich had been recording as Shapeshifters for a few years when they very sensibly found themselves a sexy female vocalist named Cookie back in 2004: as if by magic, they became the biggest selling dance act in the world. Lola's Theme, written about Marlin's wife, was the biggest hit of 2004 and they have since followed up with two more top 10 singles and the Sound Advice LP - one of the most essential vinyl slabs of 2006.
A brilliant live act, these guys also enjoy DJing and can currently be found presiding as residents and promoters at the new Nocturnal night at Turnmills - a veritable feast of house music that lets them draft in their idols.
Cookie drifts in and out of the picture but her unique vocals are a feature on all their best recognized work.
