Yousef grew up attending clubs in Liverpool and watching heroes like Carl Cox play acid house in the early 90's. Now he is remixing Carl Cox, getting him to play at his own club nights and warming up for him at Space. It doesn't get bigger than that. He won Best Breakthrough DJ award at 2001's Muzik Awards, has mixed DMCs 2002 compilation and hosted a show on BBC Radio One. He has held residencies at Ministry Of Sound, Renaissance and Cream, diversely playing house at a time when trance was ruling the dancefloor.
Relentlessly touring and playing worldwide has given Yousef a broad musical taste, mixing electronica with house and vocals with techno. He has had releases on Skint, Slip N Slide, Junior Boys own, CR2, Sony, Peppermint Jam and Underwater as well as remixing Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, Jamiroquai and numerous others. His own label Carioca is growing with his own releases and those of other up-and-coming young stars of today, and his own night Circus has been a huge success, recently celebrating its 5th birthday which was so popular they had to turn away 1200 people.
