Alongside Mario Testino, Annie Leibovitz is probably the most famous photographer in the world today.
She's shot everybody worth shooting for Rolling Stone, and since 1983 Vanity Fair, and she famously shot John Lennon and Yoko Ono (with a camera) just five hours before he was shot (for real, like with a real gun).
The 2008 retrospective at the National Portrait Gallery confirms her place in the pantheon.
