Poet, artist and activist, Charles Thomson is best known as the co-founder (along with Billy Childish) of Stuckism and its driving force. He has spent seven years demonstrating against the Turner Prize, stood for Parliament as a Stuckist and reported Charles Saatchi to the Office of Fair Trading.
In the mean time he has also produced lots of paintings, the most famous of which (2000's Sir Nicholas Serota Makes an Acquisition Decision) is something of a manifesto for Stuckism. The painting (pictured) crisply satirises the Tate Director along with the YBA movement as a whole.
Thomson was married briefly to Stella Vine.
