Having studied Fine Art and Painting at Brighton School of Art and the Slade in the late 1970s, Charlotte Hodes has since exhibited across the world and has work in a number of important collections, including UCL, Spode Mudeum and the Wellcome Collection.
Working across painting, collage and ceramics, Hodes' is a diverse oeuvre, but one unified by consistent concerns with aesthetic and process.
With an astute understand of art history, Hodes seeks to reposition the female figure through a combination of classical symbolism and deceptive simplicity. A subtle but important artist.
