Ella Guru

American born painter Ella Guru (the pseudonym is taken from a Captain Beefheart song) was one of the original founder members of the Stuckist movement along with Charles Thomson and Billy Childish among others.

Her work focuses on the marginal elements of popular culture - fetish clubs, transvestites and the like - but, as is the wont of the Stuckists, it's presented in quite a traditional style.

Ella Guru is married to fellow Stuckist Sexton Ming.
