Polish-born artist Goshka Macuga is doing something really interesting right now. She presents installations comprised of a wide variety of different artefacts, some of which are often works by other artists.
In doing so she questions established oppositions between museum and gallery, artist and curator, invention and appropriation. She questions the assumptions at root in any notion of the archive and in doing so forces a reappraisal of conventional notions of creativity.
In 2008 Macuga was shortlisted for the
Turner Prize.
