Working with photography, video and computer technology, Julian Opie is one of Britain's leading contemporary artists. Having achieved early success upon his graduation from Goldsmiths he was something of an inspiration to the wave of YBAs that followed.
Influenced by the likes of Patrick Caulfield and Michael Craig-Martin, Opie's work often depicts scenes form everyday life but drastically reduced and simplified. Walking stickmen, for example, are a current theme. He is a former trustee of the Tate and he did the cover art on Blur's 'Best of' album.
