Tipped for the top by Charles Saatchi a couple of years back, Julie Bennett is doing pretty well for herself. She used to be a graphic designer for NME, Q, and Classic Rock, and now gets lots of commissions to design album covers for the likes of Thurstan Revival and David Sinclair Trio.
But her big thing is her paintings: large scale close-up portraits, generally of women, that are like less confrontational Jenny Saville works or female Lucien Freuds.
