Short-listed for the Turner Prize in 2003 and winners of a BAFTA Award for Interactive Art Installation in 2004, English artists Ben Langlands and Nikki Bell are well established names on the contemporary art scene. Their work is often concerned with architecture and with the aesthetics of brand identity.
In 2002 the pair were appointed official British war artists for the invasion of Afghanistan. The resulting work - 'The House of Osama bin Laden - was what got them nominated for the Turner Prize. Whilst their aesthetic is often cold or ad-flat there is a political and social awareness that sets Langlands & Bell apart from their contemporaries.
