Richard Long

Sculptor, photographer and painter Richard Long is one of the leading British figures in the movement known as Land Art. Land Art is often seen as a rebellion against the superficiality of much commercially minded, ad-influenced contemporary art that is little more than a product to be bought and sold (often at vast prices).

Much of Long's work is based on walks that he makes around Britain and often involves photographs, maps, and other means of documentation. He also produces large scale pieces of natural sculpture.
