Robert Morris is best known as one of the central artists and theorists of Minimalism but his work has spanned a number of movements from his early stabs at Abstract Expressionism through to performance, Land Art and Process Art.
Famous works have included 21.3 in which Morris lip syncs to a reading of an Erwin Panofsky essay, Steam an early example of Land Art, and 1974's poster of the artist in S&M paraphernalia.
Morris was born in Kansas City in 1931 and today lives and works in New York City.
