Contemporary Canadian photographer Robert Polidori is best known for a project that has taken him over twenty-five years in total.
Polidori has been documenting the restoration of Versailles in an attempt to expose the ideological structures by which such acts are underpinned, however unconsciously. Polidori argues that when you choose to restore something to a particular period, "the period you choose is based on your contemporary worldview".
Aside from this astute observation these are also fascinating and beautifully shot images.
