Tacita Dean

Born in Canterbury in 1965 Tacita Dean trained as a painter but is now probably best known for her work in film.

These works explore the nature of film as a technical medium and often reference other media. A sense of of melancholic eeriness predominates.

Dean was nominated for the Turner Prize in 1998.
